Day 11 - San Francisco

We arrived at Greg and Tara's slightly before midnight last night, in time to catch up with Greg before he left for his morning flight to Boston, of all places. They just moved into their new place and its character and charm make it the most exquisite hotel in town. They have been our gracious hosts for a relaxing night and day, and will be again tonight. We started the day with lunch at Magnolia's, a restaurant on Haight Street serving free-range and organic foods. We both had the protein fix we've been craving (also known as environmentally justifiable lamb - yum). We then walked along Haight Street and to the top of Buena Vista Park, where we enjoyed a fine view of the city. Tonight we had dinner with Anna's Georgetown friends - Colleen, Matt, Liz and Mark Zarella at Cha Cha Cha - another great meal, this one with many hearty laughs. Although we've relished our time with friends in San Francisco, we're both craving a return to the backwoods. Tomorrow morning we will wake on the early side and head north along the Cali coast, perhaps stopping in wine country for a meal and a recommended dunk in the Russian River.
